Starting from the harbour of Rhodes, it takes approximately one hour to reach Yialos, the most picturesque harbour of the island. While approaching the port of Symi , one has the overwhelming feeling of entering a perfectly painted image of a scenic traditional village.\u00a0 The breathtaking view reveals signs of the different periods of Greek civilization being the ancient, the classic and the Byzantine.<\/p>\n

The beautiful preserved buildings are laid out amphitheatrically on the slopes of the surrounding hills.
